All We Need is Self Love

Love is the most powerful emotion there is.

It can move people to do extraordinary things, accomplish incredible feats of strength, endure almost incomprehensible pain and suffering, and bring us to tears in an instant.

The emotion and power of love often changes the course of our lives.

But it’s not just an emotion, it’s also a verb.

Love is an action.

It is behavior, speech, a gesture, a look, a touch, a text, a call, a letter, a smile.

Your actions in the world are an expression of how you love. How you love yourself and how you love others. Who you allow into your heart and who sits on the side.

Love is energy.

We feel our heart swell when we are overcome with intense love. Our energy field expands and radiates outward and is something others can feel just standing near.

The frequency of love is measurable. It is 528 Hz.

Love is reason.

New science is discovering that our hearts communicate directly with our brain, and some cells in our hearts even have logic.

This is why the heart is now being referred to as the ‘third brain’.

Scientists call this little brain the intrinsic cardiac nervous system, or the heart brain. But it’s not so little. A study reveals that humans have around 40,000 cardiac neurons, working together to communicate across the heart’s nervous system, from the heart up along the vagus nerve to the head brain.

You might expect that the brain does most of the talking. However, it’s the other way around, and the heart sends more messages up to the brain. The head brain understands these messages and often obeys. This silent, subconscious conversation is happening inside you between your head and your heart. But in order to listen, you have to get out of your mind and into your body.

Let me repeat that again…

You have to get out of your mind and into your body.

How the heck do you do that?

Spiritually speaking, the heart is also considered our connection to the divine. It is to some, the seat of our soul.  We are all divine, spiritual, energetic, feeling, loving beings to our core.  And further evidence continues to support that this mind, body and soul connection is not just fluff and stuff.

This connection to your inner self, or your soul, is one of the first steps toward finding self love. It’s where we begin to understand who we really are beneath all the labels and beliefs we’ve accumulated over time. It’s being able to feel our connection to the world around us, and experiencing love in each of its forms. Because love is also more than an emotion, an action, and a reason - we, ourselves, are love.

If you’re still reading you’re probably thinking… “Jada, you’ve gone woo-hoo!”

But I’m serious! We are more than just our bodies, our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We are energy beings filled with frequencies of love.

When we begin to continuously practice self-love, we allow love to be at the center of our lives:

  • We begin to nourish ourselves with love.

  • We begin to navigate our relationships with love.

  • We begin to move our bodies with love.

  • We begin to take on new experiences with love.

  • We begin to treat others with love.

  • We begin to treat ourselves with love.

All we need is self love

Self love is the first step to any journey in life. Want to lose weight, improve your relationships, become a better athlete, get that dream job… you must learn to love yourself first.

It might sound crazy, but let me run through a little exercise with you.

I want you to imagine yourself living your dream life.

In this dream life, think about the relationship you have, the people you are surrounded with, where you live, what job you have, what does your daily routine look like, etc.

Now, realistically, what is stopping you from being that person?

If your response was a million dollars… let’s back up.

What is stopping you from being that person?

  • Lack of confidence?

  • Lack of self-worth?

  • Unhealed traumas?

  • An abusive relationship?

  • Fear of failure?

  • Surrounding yourself with unhealthy situations/toxic behavior?

  • Negative mindset?

I know. These hit hard.

But if even just one of these are stopping you from living your best life, I’m going to be brutally honest here and tell you that it’s time to start learning how to love yourself.

Because when you do…

  • You’ll boost your confidence

  • You’ll know your self-worth

  • You’ll learn to forgive, forget and heal past traumas

  • You’ll recognize the abusive relationships

  • You won’t be afraid to fail

  • You’ll remove yourself from unhealthy situations/toxic behavior

  • You’ll change your mindset

This is what I teach the women who work with me.

It really all comes down to love. And teaching others to fully LOVE themselves in every aspect of the word is my mission, and the reason I started Soul via Sole.
